In this simulated work project, I will assist Brionne Aya Whiskey in completing her graduation animation “Miss Universe.” In this 2D animation project, I will utilize software such as TVpaint, Toon Boom, Harmony, etc.

Synopsis: After many years of the pageant only being open to contestants from Earth, Miss Universe became applicable to all beings in the cosmos. For the 2975th contest, MC Catrick Stewart hosts and is surprised to see the contest suffers from many issues and technical difficulties. It is only after a winner has been crowned that Catrick realizes that the contest was sabotaged and who the culprit was.

Brionne Aya Whiskey

Brionne has already completed the Character Design, Animatic, and voice recording for the character Catrick. She has also provided me with action references for the contestants from four planets: Earth, Mars, Saturn, and Venus. She hopes that I can select a scene to draw keyframes and design the competition scene. After initial discussions, she believed the existing storyboard looked too straightforward, so I suggested that her storyboard could consider more angles and perspectives to enhance visual appeal. Currently, I am working on background design and creating keyframes. We will communicate progress weekly to ensure the final completion.

This project is challenging for me because I have never participated in other people’s animation work before. It exposes me to different drawing methods and artistic styles. This collaborative animation project will enhance my ability to communicate ideas, compromise, and resolve conflicts with others. Moreover, such exchanges will inspire new ideas and break existing boundaries. Simulated work projects allow me to familiarize myself with the workflow in the animation industry in advance, build confidence in facing unknown environments, and develop strategies for overcoming new challenges.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to participate in this simulated work project because Brionne is a very conversational and capable person. Not only does she promptly send me the tasks that need to be completed in text format after our meetings, but she also imparts a lot of professional knowledge to me. This comfortable collaborative environment can enhance our efficiency.
